With The Campaign for a Sustainable CT, we’re calling on Connecticut residents to take the lead in sustainability. We’re asking you to help us fight climate change, protect the environment, support sustainable transportation, champion affordable housing, strengthen local economies, celebrate the arts, and embrace equity and inclusion.

In an effort to continue to find different ways to engage with residents, we are very excited to announce the new Town of Stonington app, which is currently available for download through Apple and Google.

We rely on over 100 volunteers to serve on over 30 Boards, Commissions and Authorities that help us manage the activities of the town. Their role is a critical contribution of time and talent. Come join us!

As residents or property owners in Stonington, we have a vested interest in how this all turns out, and ample opportunities to help the process along by providing our feedback and ideas at the Zoning Regulations Workshops.

Stonington has come a long way since the homesteaders’ cabins of 1649, and our town continues to grow and evolve. In addition to the challenges of growth and affordability, we now face threats of environmental sustainability.

The purpose of this online survey is to collect information to assist the Town with a review of its zoning regulations, which control land use and development across Stonington.

Phase 1 of the Zoning Rewrite was completed in November 2023 and reorganized the regulations to make them more user-friendly, eliminate redundancies, and ensure compliance with state statutes. Below is a comprehensive report.

This May marked the end of an application process and the beginning of our commission’s work to promote, support, strengthen, enhance, and advance Stonington's rich reservoir of cultural assets within its specified districts.
