Regional culture website launches
Commission Launches Hub for Arts and Culture
Stonington, CT – June 30, 2026 – The Town of Stonington’s Cultural Districts Commission today announced the launch of StoningtonCulture.com, a new online cultural directory and events hub connecting residents and visitors with the community’s arts, history, and cultural experiences. The site highlights the Stonington Borough and Mystic Bridge cultural districts and includes the surrounding areas, offering an easy way to discover local and regional creatives, organizations, destinations and events.
StoningtonCulture.com features listings for artists, galleries, studios, cultural nonprofits, performance venues, museums, historic sites, libraries, and more, alongside a growing calendar of exhibitions, performances, festivals, and community events. A distinctive search tool lets users explore by categories such as Craft, Destination, Fashion, Fine art, Historic, Library, Literature, Museum, Music, Nature, Tour, and Venue, and by any keyword.
“The Stonington area has an extraordinary concentration of creative talent and cultural resources, and we wanted a hub that reflects that richness,” said R. Douglass Rice, Chair of the Stonington Cultural District Commission. “StoningtonCulture.com makes it easier than ever to find our artists, explore our cultural districts, and experience the many ways the arts and history shape life here.”
Developed by the Cultural District Commission, the site is designed as a living, expandable platform to support directory growth, event promotion, and future initiatives in public art, heritage tourism, and culture-driven economic development. While future updates may introduce additional themes, the current launch focuses on arts, culture, history, and nature-based offerings that define Stonington’s sense of place.
Local artists, makers, cultural organizations, and event organizers are invited to submit or update listings through a simple online form, helping keep the directory current and inclusive. Residents, visitors, and community partners can use the site as a central reference when planning cultural outings, collaborations, and seasonal programs.
