Learning and Growing

Corrie and Matt, Fuel Good owners

Stonington Public Schools created this video in hopes of highlighting our already inclusive community, but also to educate and inspire others to do the same.

Please find a message from our Stonington school team below:

“Thank you to Caleb Silvia for capturing our Transition Program at Stonington Schools. He truly made the vision come to life by showcasing how capable and valuable these young adults are!

We are beyond grateful for all of the businesses and community members who have already offered opportunities to learn and grow through vocational experiences at their sites including Surf Cantina, Fuel Good Nutrition, The Jonnycake Center, The Westerly Animal Shelter,  and the Mystic Seaport (all featured in video).  We are also grateful for other Community sites that we have been/are currently involved with such as NESS, DogwatchStone Acres Farm, Mystic Aquarium, Stonington Arms, Noank Village Boatyard and Mystic Shipyard.

Thank you, thank you for giving these students a chance and believing in them and us. These young adults are kind, compassionate, and hardworking.  They are a joy to be around and we hope this video encourages others to reach out and become involved!”

We all have a place in this world we just have to find it.

Please feel free to message me personally if you're interested in becoming involved:  gabrielle.lachance@stoningtonschools.org. Our students could come for a visit to learn more about your business or organization, or we can arrange a more formal work experience for our students with you. I look forward to hearing from you!
